Commonwealth Games 2014 South African Team

Day 8 at he Commonwealth Games.
So far South Africa has won 10 gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze medals.
Chad le Clos was South Africa's star performer at the games bringing home 2 gold,1 silver and 4 bronze medals. His 7 medals is well appreciated in South Africa.

Southern Right Whales

Southern Right Whales, the gentle giants of the oceans, are very active in coastal waters and it is known that they are very curious and playful.According to observations these giants will tend to interact with humans more than any other whale species.
They have very strong maternal connections with the locations where they were born and they will return to their birth spots.These whales  weigh about average 40 tons and are about  14m long. A pregnancy is more or less 12 months.At birth  calves are about 6m long and can nurse for about  6 to 12 months.
The most common place to them in the southern hemisphere is Hermanus,South Africa and is known as the whale watching mecca of the world.

Blitz Bokke 2014 Commonwealth 7's champions

The Blitz Bokke stunned the New Zealand 7's rugby team in their tracks from a  winning streak  of 30games by winning the gold by 17-12.
RSA won another gold medal-well done boys.

Daniel Ricciardo F1

Daniel Ricciardo won a thriller  in Hungary today infront of Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton today.
The race was a absolute  thriller to watch and I was pleased to see a different winner this time around.Well done Daniel you made your country proud!

Nico Rosberg

Nico Rosberg won the German F1 Grand Prix with A German car,Mercedes. Hamilton performed well but lost out to some  championship points,tuff luck mate. Bottas is the up and coming new driver and can he smile? The season is still long and we can expect more surprises.

Vincenzo Nibali is going to be the next Tour de France winner if the fat lady sings but anything can still happen......

Fiat 1200 mpi faulty

I recently bought a Fiat 1200 mpi.I found it to be a very nice little car, not so powerful but ok for  me and children to go to the shopping center and back.A  couple of months ago the car blew a head gasket and this is where the problem started.
I replaced the head gasket  and this was where the problem popped out.I would not rev up!I went to the fiat dealers and sought some help from the fiat experts.I replaced just about every thing that could be replaced and still the problem was there.
After months of phoning around  and getting opinions I decided that I was going to sort this problem out myself. I phoned my friend who was a backyard mechanic for advise and believe it or not he gave me an idea and then i rembered that I took the thermostat out sothat the car can run colder  and i replaced it.
All of the sudden the car was back to its old self .
If anyone has more or less the same problem reply to this blog.

The Great White Shark cage dive

Shark diving  is a absolute must when u are in the area of Cape Town,Gansbaai that is if you don't want to do Whale watching.Gansbaai is about 150km from Cape Town.It is also known as the capitol of the Great White sharks and it lies between Dyer island and Geyser Rock.Helicopter trips are available from Cape Town to this location. Other attractions are the Jackass penguins,Cape fur seals,Southern right whales and many more.

It is time to come visit us in Hermanus.The whales are playing in our waters.This is the whale watching mekka,no better place in the world to come watch these big ones.The whales migrate from the antartic to our beautiful coasts to calve and mate.In the coming weeks the whale festival will be ain Hermanus.Make sure that you are here!

Yellow jersey on Bastille day

A French cyclist  Tony Gallopin is wearing the yellow jersey on Bastille Day! a German Tony Martin won the stage  after the soccer team won the Fifa soccer world cup -amazing the The Two Tony's  was amazing throughout the the stage

Both cyclist made sure that they got what they wanted.Well done guys but today is going to be something else.

The world cup soccer has come to an end and a new a champion Germany.This tournament had some surprises with  some disapointed fans and so it will aways be.
Well done Germany !!!!

Germany thrashes Brazil 7-1

Who would believe Germany would beat Brazil this way 7-1  Brazil was never in the game....Their own supporters  burnt the national flag !!!!!

Klose became the tournament's all time record goal scorer.

Better luck next time Brazil ?

Table Mountain,Cape Town,South Africa

Table Mountain is a World Heritage site and a home to fynbos,schrubs and plants.The mountain is proud to be  an official new 7Wonder of nature.
It took a very long time  discussing  and planning  of the cable way and took 3 years to complete and opened on the 4th October 1929

The cable car was upgraded in 1958 then 1974 and the newest one in 1997.The new cable car could carry 65 people instead of 25 people.This cable car could rotate 360 degrees for a great panoramic view of the city.

In 2004  the Cape floral kingdom  which is the smallest and riches on earth was reconised as a Narural World Heritage site. Within the Table Mountain National park you will find the riches single floristic area on the planet. At 1085 m Maclear's Beacon is the highest point on the mountain. The south east wind that comes over  the neck between Devil's Peak and Table mountain can reach speeds up to 130 km/h and clears the Town of its smog and heat.

And  there are a number of hiking trials and the Platte klip route is recommend that will take between 1-3 hours and then you are on top of the mountain. I have told you  about a few things  about Table Mountain come see for yourself!!!!!

The question is who sang the best  version of the great gig in the sky? Questions will always be asked and along with that comes answers or is it choices.

I have read many reviews and listen to the two and I also had to choose.
In my humble opinion I observed the following ClareTorry set the bench mark and Ola Bienkowska perfected it.

After spending hours reading about who wrote the best songs and hits I came to the conclusion that it does'nt matter what I think. We all have our favourite Beatle and we want him to be the best and argue and argue until we become enemies. It does'nt matter if the songs are cheesy or serious as long as it is number one!!
The main goal was to become  rich  and famous with a number one hits.
There will always be someone arguing about this topic John Lennon vs Paul  McCartney and they have a lot to say and does it really matter what they say? Absolutely not.
I think I have the answer and it is simple......

The remaining two Beatles are stinking rich and worth 1 billion us dollars.

The Beatles was for sure the most successful band of all times had 27 number one songs. John had a solo hit while still a beetle.

George Harrison was the first Beatle to reach the top of the billboard charts with My sweet lord. The Beatles was the only band to hold all five top spots on the billboard charts. The song Yesterday was covered 1600 times  and was rated as the number one pop song of all time. One can just say where does it stop..... yes the fab four !!
