Table Mountain,Cape Town,South Africa

Table Mountain is a World Heritage site and a home to fynbos, schrubs and plants. The mountain is proud to be  an official new 7Wonder of nature.
It took a very long time  discussing  and planning  of the cable way and took 3 years to complete and opened on the 4th October 1929

The cable car was upgraded in 1958 then 1974 and the newest one in 1997.The new cable car could carry 65 people instead of 25 people. This cable car could rotate 360 degrees for a great panoramic view of the city.
In 2004  the Cape floral kingdom  which is the smallest and riches on earth was reconised as a Narural World Heritage site. Within the Table Mountain National park you will find the riches single floristic area on the planet. At 1085 m Maclear's Beacon is the highest point on the mountain. The south east wind that comes over  the neck between Devil's Peak and Table mountain can reach speeds up to 130 km/h and clears the Town of its smog and heat.
And  there are a number of hiking trials and the Platte klip route is recommend that will take between 1-3 hours and then you are on top of the mountain. I have told you  about a few things  about Table Mountain come see for yourself!!!!!
